LA NIT DELS MALSONS

SYNOPSIS

de Marta Buchaca, guionista, dramaturga i directora de teatre

The story begins the night before Lluc, a fearful boy of nine, is due to go to camp. He really doesn’t want to go because at camp you have to take part in lots of activities which make him panic, and he just can’t face it.

That night, when Lluc is going off to sleep, the Guardian of fear sneaks in through his window. The Guardian is there to make sure that fear doesn’t disappear from the world, and to make Lluc understand that fear doesn’t have to be bad. By going on a journey through the nightmares of different people Lluc knows well, it makes him see that there are different types of fear, and that being afraid doesn’t have to be a weakness.

With the Guardian’s help, Lluc understands that fear is part of life, and that the only thing that some fears do is stop us from living life to the full. After realising that being afraid is normal, he decides to be brave and go to the camp, and those days are some of the happiest days of his childhood.
